Royal Mail parcel postboxes are now available in our area for the first time following a successful trial last year.
53 have been unveiled in the Home Counties.
We now have one in Ashford, situated on the corner of Church Road and Dudley Road opposite Muggeridge Furniture.
They will allow small businesses and marketplace sellers to post pre-paid parcels around the clock, while customers will be able to return things more easily.
The postboxes include a wider aperture and secure design.
Mark Street, Head of Campaigns at Royal Mail said they would provide ” added flexibility to online sellers who might be running a business in their spare time and not keeping regular office hours.”
The launch represents the first major change of use for the postbox since it was introduced 160 years ago – and is also one of the biggest innovations in parcels since the launch of Parcel Post in 1888.
How it works:
- Buy postage
- Print your label at home
- Drop off your item at your local Parcel Postbox
